«THE ONLY LEGAL TRIP YOU CAN TAKE. A HYPNOTIC SOUND EXPERIENCE. A PERFECT CUT IN THE VACUUM!»

'A Perfect Cut in the Vacuum' is the title of the new album by Paolo Tarsi, set for a release on Anitya Records, in collaboration with Acanto.

Paolo Tarsi, Italian producer of electronic and chamber music, writes for theater and video art, working regularly with visual artists, DJs, film-makers, galleries and museums of contemporary art. Specializing in the composition with Oscar-winner Luis Bacalov, he collaborates with leading musicians in the electronic, jazz and rock scene.

The 21 tracks of the album pulsate in a climax where intense sounds follow each other. Ambient echoes blend with the Kosmische Musik and the progressive, going through techno to the irresistible universe of synth pop.

Paolo involves artists who have contributed to reshaping the aesthetic canons of a musical revolution. This begins with some legends of electronics, such as the renowned keyboardist Steve Schroyder and the violinist Hoshiko Yamane from Tangerine Dream, as well as two former Kraftwerk members: Eberhard Kranemann and Fernando Abrantes. Others come from equally important experiences such as Electric Music, King Crimson, Tuxedomoon, Henry Cow, National Health, Area, Afterhours, Ulan Bator, Rheingold, through session men who have recorded alongside Brian Eno, Radiohead, Soft Machine and Bryan Ferry.

A journey through cinematic, introspective and music experimentations, which culminates with 'Artificial Intelligence', the first single of the album!

The artwork is created, among others, by Emil Schult and Ahmed Emad Eldin, designer of the cover of ‘The Endless River’ album by Pink Floyd.

A producer and a musical project that we will surely hear about in the coming months.

FEEDBACK

“Dear Paolo I wish you all the best with your project", Alan Wilder (Depeche Mode)

“Very interesting project", John Illsley (Dire Straits)

"Dear Paolo, your music sounds interesting and you have clearly done some great musical projects", Theo Travis (David Gilmour, Soft Machine Legacy, Robert Fripp, David Sylvian, Steven Wilson, Harold Budd, Gong, Porcupine Tree, Dave & Richard Sinclair)

“Dear Paolo, I find what you are doing really interesting and full of resonances, both musical and otherwise”, Bob Klose (Pink Floyd)

“I like your music very much”, Klaus Röder (ex Kraftwerk)

"Dear Paolo, I wish you lots of luck with your project and the exhibition", Steve Hackett (Genesis)

“Hi Paolo, the music sounds very interesting!”, Percy Jones (Brand X, Soft Machine, David Sylvian, Brian Eno, Steve Hackett, Suzanne Vega, Richard Barbieri)

"Dear Paolo I found your music very interesting, I enjoy it a lot! Your music is very good", John Scofield (Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, Charles Mingus, Joey DeFrancesco, Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, Bill Frisell, Joe Lovano, Pat Martino, Phil Lesh, Billy Cobham, Medeski Martin & Wood, Jaco Pastorius)

“When Paolo and I met, we knew we had something in common. Our common references to Cage brought us instantly in tune with one another. Among other things, I appreciate working with young musicians and sharing experiences. I am very happy to have the possibility to collaborate in these reunions with Area, but I am even happier when I can do things like this that we will be doing with Paolo, because these things represent the essence of what I am now, instead of going back and retracing musical themes that for me are now quite obsolete”

Paolo Tofani (Area International POPular Group)

"For those beloved of the original German kosmische musik of the likes of early Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream and Can it will feel like a little piece of heaven. The gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art) is completed by artwork and text by Emil Schult. Overall a heady mix of fizzing ideas and collaborations"

David Buckley, MOJO Magazine

“Paolo Tarsi, a name which will be remembered”
Battiti – Rai Radio 3
